Gratitude: Recognize Your Special Accomplishments!

Three Good Things

Many of us from time to time need help with our happiness levels. To elevate your happiness it’s important that you focus on the good events and happy moments in your life. Take some time to notate your achievements and then take a look around at the people who have less than you do…Be grateful!  Start a gratitude journal!

Research has shown that by deliberately focusing on the good things in your life, you become happier. On your journey through this very challenging time, use the “Three Good Things” exercise. Make the activity a part of your daily routine. Use your gratitude journal and notate three things for which you are grateful. It’s best to complete the exercise in the morning before starting your work or in the evening before bed. The pioneer of the “Three Good Things”, Dr. Martin Seligman states that the study subjects were happier and less depressed after 1 week of the study. If you are not self-forgiving and possibly your harshest critic, give it a try!

Be grateful…remind yourself of the good things!

Positive Emotion

My sons’ high school years were quite eventful and being the president of a service club, he had to ensure that they participated in meaningful activities. A favorite activity of his was taking children with special needs for short rides on horses. At the next event, rather than leaving immediately after taking him to the ranch, I remained a few minutes to see what the activity involved and why I needed to be up so early on a weekend morning! I watched as my son led a horse with a teenage boy atop, on a slow trot around the enclosure. Suddenly, the boy raised his hands towards the sky and smiling he turned his face upwards to meet the early morning rays of sunshine…that for me is gratitude! The boy was grateful for the experience and I was grateful that my son was able to help him enjoy the moment. A little snapshot of appreciation yet an incredible picture!

Relish in the joys you have experienced in your life and be ready for those to come!

 Be grateful…set your intentions daily!

Great News!

In March the Department of Labor released data that showed that the US unemployment rate edged down to 6% as 916,000 jobs were added to non-farm payroll employment. Great news, right? Give a hand to those who rejoined the workforce, started a small business, or other venture. We applaud you! Be successful!

I have found gratitude life-changing! Every time I found the reasons to be grateful for I realized how blessed I am. Every time I left something to mark my gratitude I got paid back 10 times more. I do think gratitude made me a better person, I can’t agree more with your post!

Thank you to your son for taking children with special needs to those activities. I’m sure those kids were enjoying themselve and kudo to your son. Well done.
