The theme of this year’s Earth Day is Plastic versus Planet. The goal is to reduce our dependency on plastic by 60% by year 2040. Its common knowledge that plastic is a danger to both people and animals. So, let’s join the 60X40 club to help save our planet.

Plastic Pollution – The BPA Issue

The world is running out of ways to handle the rapidly increasing number of single-use plastic products. Plastic waste is rapidly overflowing into our waterways. Furthermore, concerns have been raised regarding the potential link between the chemical bisphenol-A (BPA), which is utilized in the production of plastic, and health issues like infertility and neurodevelopment disorders in children.

According to studies done, the BPA in plastic has been linked to illness and diseases such as:

  • Cancer
  • Endocrine activity decrease/ increase
  • Weight gain
  • Insulin resistance

Given that everyone wants to be well and raise healthy children, these studies are a serious cause for concern. Therefore, let’s work to reduce the amount of plastic we use to preserve our health!
